Cypriot/Australian singer-songwriter Phoebe Day, releases lush and sultry second single, 'Trust', from her upcoming debut album. Following the success of her dreamy track 'Storm Coming' in September, Day is back to showcase a more intimate and sensual sound.

Slowing things down with an ultra-moody, urban beat and silky smooth vocals, a vulnerable Day explores the core of every intimate relationship - trust."We've been here before, we go back and forth', she sings.

Aside from an other-worldy tapestry of heavy, sub-bass lines, soothing keys parts and luscious synths, the real star of this track is the vocal arrangement. Day creates a push and pull between distorted lead vocals and ethereal backing vocals that keeps the listener captivated from start to finish. Day is unafraid to break down traditional genre barriers and brings a refreshingly unique vocal tone to contemporary RNB.

Described as 'effortlessly cool' and 'reminiscent of Sade and Erykah Badu with a nod to fashion icon Audrey Hepburn' (Onya Magazine, AU), Day captives listeners with an alluring vocal tone. She bounces between a velvety lower register and a delicate, breathy falsetto. Her voice evokes the sound of her idols including Billie Holiday, Erykah Badu, Sade and Amy Winehouse, whilst maintaining her own artistic identity.

'Trust' was recorded and produced by Day herself, with co-production and mixing by her partner, Joel Sena (
saxophonist and producer). The couple have worked together since 2015, crafting a signature style all of their own and proving to be a force to be reckoned with.

'Trust' will be accompanied by an official music video to be released late November. Day teased a cinematic and vintage looking trailer for both single and video on social media. Sporting an elegant and sensual look, Day partnered with upcoming  Australian designer label, Lettie Fletcher and renowned international jewellery brand, Mejuri
for the accompanying visuals. Day is draped in silky fabrics and luxurious, golden jewels.

Growing up in a musical family culture, Day credits much of her vocal styling to the Greek singers she listened to in her childhood. She was heavily influenced by the poignant harmony and complex rhythms of traditional Greek music/hymns. After she was encouraged to study at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney, Australia, Day graduated in 2016 and went on to pursue her music career in Melbourne.

Day made her mark on the Melbourne scene with her partner, saxophonist and co-producer, Joel Sena. After selling out several shows in the city's most established clubs, she was invited to play her debut headline show at the 2019 Melbourne International Jazz Festival, alongside an impressive international lineup including Herbie Hancock and Ambrose Akinmusire.

Day's love of fashion, visual arts and design, has seen her collaborate with various local and international fashion brands including Mejuri Jewellery, Jacinta James, Nordgreen Watches and Diana Klisaris

If 'Trust' is any indication, there is definitely something big coming for Phoebe Day and her upcoming album. Her album will be released with Artist Development and Media support from Cartel Management.
